New Fred Meyer Stores are usually large, a minimum of 150,000
square feet, and integrate the traditional department store
with grocery, home improvement and outdoor sales areas.
Although
floor plans between stores are similar, every store is unique
and requires extensive coordination between multiple clients,
consultants and disciplines. Fred Meyer's design standards
are always changing and constantly updated throughout design
and construction.
The
code requirements for each store are complex.
ECI engineers and designers have extensive knowledge
of the code requirements for the multiple occupancies which
exist in each store throughout the northwest states.
ECI
has provided mechanical and electrical engineering services
for many new Fred Meyer stores in Oregon, Washington, Idaho
and Alaska in the past 12 years.

Locations: Oregon, Washington and Alaska
Sizes: up to 165,000 s.f.

ECI: Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
Most all of Fred Meyer Store remodels are extensive and require
the use and application of prototypical Fred Meyer standards.
In
a typical Fred Meyer remodel, all of the departments are updated
and sometimes even relocated to increase sales. Remodel designs
include all new decor, general lighting, new or updated HVAC
systems, refrigerated cases, compressor racks, architectural designs in all departments, updated site lighting
and layouts.
Field
verification of existing as-built conditions and coordination
among the disciplines is very critical, and helps ensure all
equipment is installed as easily and seamlessly as possible.
ECI
has provided mechanical and electrical engineering services
for more than 40 Fred Meyer remodels and new stores on the west coast for over 10 years.
